«Sharing success, building sustainability: crafting digital marketing strategies for a sustainable future through local case studies»

Total duration: 10 days (7 days of physical mobility and 3 days of online activities)

Objective:
The main objective is to deepen participants’ understanding of the principles of sustainable development and show them how digital marketing can contribute to achieve goal 12 of the 2030 Agenda that encourages more sustainable consumption and production patterns.

To achieve this, the program aims to equip participants with a basic understanding of sustainable development and provide students with the knowledge and skills to implement effective digital marketing strategies that support sustainable consumption and production. The program focuses on researching local case studies in each university based on their home city. Students will create a video presentation for each case study. During the physical mobility, knowledge of sustainable development and digital marketing will be deepened, and all case studies will be presented by the students. The aim is to develop a digital strategy for all the case studies to improve their impact. Through this approach, the program seeks to cultivate a deep understanding of how digital marketing can influence and encourage sustainable behaviors.

Virtual phase (before physical mobility): 9 hours, 3 weeks

  • 1. Introduction to sustainable development and digital marketing
    Online lectures covering the fundamentals of sustainable development, responsible consumption, digital marketing, creating videos with a smartphone
    Introduction to Goal 12 of the 2030 Agenda.
  • 2. Local business Investigation : Students, organized in groups, research and identify local businesses in their hometowns following sustainable practices. Production of short videos showcasing these businesses’ sustainable initiatives. Virtual discussion forums to share progress and insights with other universities (?)

Physical mobility phase: 7 days

  • Day 1-2 : Sustainable development and digital marketing overview
    Lecture on sustainable development goals, especially Goal 12.
    In-depth analysis of the role of digital marketing in promoting sustainable practices.
    Round table with local companies involved in sustainability
  • Day 3-4 : Video presentation and analysis
    Students present their videos showcasing local businesses’ sustainable initiatives.
    Group discussions on the impact of digital storytelling on sustainable behaviors
  • Day 5-6 : Digital marketing strategy development
    Case study presentations by each group on the current digital strategies of the showcased businesses.
    Group work to create tailored digital marketing strategies for each business.
  • Day 7 : Strategy presentation and reflection
    Final group presentations of digital marketing strategies.
    Reflection sessions on the overall learning experience and future implications.

Follow-up activities (Virtual): On their return, the students will have to present their proposed digital strategy to local companies for feedback, sharing success stories from other countries.»
